Menchul rises to 1,998 meters above sea level and is one of the prominent peaks of the Chornohora range in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Although it is slightly below the two-thousand-meter mark, it is often included among the major summits of the ridge due to its elevation and position along the main crest.
The mountain features open alpine meadows, rounded slopes, and sections of rocky terrain shaped by ancient glacial processes. Its exposed location along the ridge makes it vulnerable to strong winds and sudden weather changes. Fog can quickly reduce visibility, especially during transitional seasons.
Menchul is commonly visited by hikers traversing the Chornohora ridge route. The ascent is considered moderately demanding because of the elevation gain and long distances between peaks. From the summit area, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of neighboring two-thousanders such as Rebra and Hutyn Tomnatyk, as well as wide landscapes of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
