Syvulia Velyka (Велика Сивуля, 1,836 m / 6,024 ft) is the highest peak in the Gorgany massif of the Ukrainian Carpathians, located in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast on the watershed between the Limnytsia and Solotvynska Bystrytsia rivers. Part of the Syvulia ridge, it features two conical summits—Great Syvulia (main) and Little Syvulia (1,818 m)—often climbed together. The mountain is within the Gorgany Nature Reserve, known for dense spruce forests, stone runs, and pristine wilderness. Popular routes start from Stara Huta village (2-day trek, ~36 km, 1,100+ m gain) via Polonyna Rushchyna or from Osmoloda through Vysoka and Ihrovets. The summit offers sweeping views of the Gorgany ridges, distant Chornohora, and valleys. It's a favorite for experienced hikers seeking solitude, multi-day treks, and raw Carpathian beauty away from crowded trails.
