Grofa (Ґрофа, 1,748 m / 5,735 ft) is a conical peak in the Gorgany massif of the Ukrainian Carpathians, located in Rozhniativ district of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast within the Grofa Landscape Reserve. Known for its glacial cirques, moraine ridges, and dramatic stone runs (gregots) above the treeline, the mountain transitions from dense spruce forests (up to ~1,450 m) to alpine meadows and rocky scree near the summit. Popular routes start from Osmoloda village (e.g., via Polonyna Pliste refuge, 11–23 km round-trip or 2-day trek with 1,000+ m gain), often combined with Parenky or Popadya for ridge traverses. The summit offers panoramic views of neighboring peaks (Ihrovets, Syvulia, Moloda) and distant Chornohora. It's a classic Gorgany hike—rugged, demanding with exposure, but rewarding for solitude, wild beauty, and authentic highland scenery away from crowds.
