Parenky

Parenky (Паренки, 1,735–1,737 m / 5,692–5,699 ft) is a flat, elongated peak in the Gorgany massif of the Ukrainian Carpathians, located near Osmoloda in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Its summit stretches northwest to southeast with steep northern and southwestern slopes covered in stone runs and mountain pine, while gentler areas feature alpine meadows. Often climbed as part of ridge traverses (e.g., Grofa–Parenky–Popadya loop from Osmoloda, 23+ km, 2 days). Routes pass through spruce forests, polonyna meadows, and rocky terrain; the peak offers broad views of Gorgany ridges, including Grofa, Popadya, and distant ranges. Popular among experienced hikers for its wild, uncrowded character and classic Gorgany scenery—demanding with scree and exposure but ideal for multi-day treks and solitude in the heart of the "Alps of Ukraine."
