Blyznytsia rises to 1,883 meters above sea level and is one of the most scenic peaks of the Svydovets range in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Located in Zakarpattia Oblast near the town of Rakhiv, it is known for its distinctive twin-summit formation, which gave the mountain its name — “Blyznytsia” means “twins.”
The mountain features broad alpine meadows, gentle ridgelines, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking glacial lakes and surrounding valleys. The landscape was shaped by ancient glaciation, and several small cirque lakes can be found nearby. Weather conditions can change quickly, with strong winds and fog common at higher elevations.
Blyznytsia is a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts due to relatively accessible routes and impressive scenery. The ascent is considered moderately challenging but does not require technical climbing skills in summer. From the summit, visitors can enjoy sweeping views across the Svydovets range and the southeastern Carpathians.
