South Ridge (Normal Route)
This is the standard and best-known mountaineering route on Salbitschijen. It follows the south ridge and is a classic alpine rock-and-scramble ascent rather than a hiking trail. The route is generally on solid granite but requires sure-footed movement and comfort on exposed terrain. Protection and route-finding can be important, especially in the upper sections. Conditions can vary with snow or verglas on the ridge. It is typically climbed as a day outing from the Salbithütte area.
