Ascent

Reach Lac d'Arou and the north cirque of Arbizon.

You soon spot the couloir just to the right of another very obvious, straight couloir.

First climb a broad slope toward the straight couloir (slope 35-40)

then trend right near a small rock barrier (granite), then a little left (steeper step 45-50°)

and finally right to exit at a corniced col (start of the classic ski descent on the other side).

Follow the easy summit ridge to the left to the summit.

Descent · (3 possibilities)

- either by the opposite slope when you emerge at the col (classic ski descent route), a sustained slope that leads back to the valley north of Monfaucon (the valley that corresponds to the classic ski ascent route),

- or by the same way if you come out early or if it is cold,

- or by continuing along the ridge to the left (southeast) to a wide notch (toward point 2658 m) from which a easy couloir descends (40° at the start) and which leads back, by a broad slope, to the north cirque of Arbizon (this is also the classic descent after climbing a route on the north face of Arbizon).
