Pick a Peak materials

Texts about mountains, ranges and routes, blog articles, peak lists, challenges, ratings, maps and other materials created for this site may be quoted and used, including on other websites, social networks and apps, only with credit to the source — pickapeak.com. Use without a link to the source is prohibited.

The link must be direct, clickable and open to search engine indexing, and lead to the page the material was taken from.

Materials by other authors

Some of the data on the site comes from open sources, and photos, trip reports and tracks are added by users. Where a page names another author or source (for example OpenStreetMap, Wikimedia Commons or camptocamp), that material is used on its author's terms or under the source's licence.

Accuracy and safety

Elevations, coordinates, route descriptions, grades, tracks and other data come from many sources and from users, and may be inaccurate or out of date. Pick a Peak does not guarantee their accuracy and is not liable for the consequences of using them. Mountains are dangerous: the decision to go is yours, and so is the responsibility.

User content

You are responsible for the photos, trip reports, comments, tracks and other content you add to the site. By adding it you confirm that you have the rights to it and allow Pick a Peak to show it on the site. The rights stay with you.

What is not allowed

Do not post spam or advertising, content unrelated to mountains and travel, other people's photos or texts without their permission, insults or anything unlawful. Do not interfere with the site or bulk-download its data. We remove such content and may block the accounts behind it without notice.

We may change these terms; the current version is always on this page.
