Route allowing a loop by combining with the ascent of Pic Méchant since on the descent you will take its normal route from the 2880 m col down to the bottom of Val d'Estaragne

Ascend Val d'Estaragne preferably on the right bank on faint or unmarked paths in the direction of the low point (2702 m) of the south ridge of Cintes Blanques.
To reach it most easily aim for this low point in steep and rather unattractive scree from the small lake (around 2600 m)
From the 2702 m col, follow the south-west ridge rising to Pic des Toudes, the rock demands constant attention and does not exceed 2 or a small 3 on the easiest line of ascent, with some pleasant route-finding.
Past a steep step but feasible before Pic des Toudes, the rest is much less vertical to the summit then descends fairly easily to the 2880 m col.
It is then possible to climb the end of the normal route of nearby Pic Méchant (Topo or descend immediately by the normal route (same topo).

Gear

Helmet
Rope useful for belaying a beginner on rock, few possibilities for setting up belay stations, and rather poor rock which raises questions about the usefulness of cams and slings.
