Bratkivska

Bratkivska (Братківська / Братковська, 1,788–1,789 m) is a prominent peak in the Gorgany massif of the Ukrainian Carpathians, located on the border of Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia oblasts in the Bratkivskyi ridge (also called Chorna Polonyna). Part of the wild and rugged Gorgany range, it features dense spruce forests up to 1,400–1,600 m, transitioning to alpine meadows, pines, and juniper on the summit. The northern slopes are especially scenic with lush vegetation. Popular routes include multi-day treks from Stara Huta or Osmoloda, often combined with nearby peaks like Pantyr, Durnia, or Ihrovets (e.g., via Polonyna Serednya). The summit offers broad views of the Gorgany ridges and distant Chornohora. It's favored by experienced hikers for its solitude, stone runs, and authentic Carpathian wilderness—demanding but rewarding, with fewer crowds than Hoverla.
