Vivian Creek Trail

This is the standard and best-documented route to San Gorgonio Mountain, but it is a hiking trail rather than a mountaineering route. It ascends the south side of the mountain from the Vivian Creek trailhead through forest and alpine terrain to the summit. The route is long and strenuous, with a very large elevation gain and a high summit. Snow and ice can linger on the upper mountain in winter and spring, increasing difficulty and objective hazard. Because it is not a technical alpine climb, it does not fit the requested mountaineering-route category.
