South Ridge (Południowa Grań)
A classic alpine line on Kościelec, following the mountain’s South Ridge to the summit. It is a genuine mountaineering route rather than a hiking trail, with exposed scrambling and short climbing sections on solid but sometimes broken rock. The route is typically considered more serious than the normal tourist ascent because of its exposure and the need for route-finding. Conditions can make the difficulty vary significantly, especially when snow or ice remains on the ridge. Protection may be sparse in places, so competence in moving together and assessing rock quality is important. It is best attempted in stable weather and dry conditions.
