South face route (Via della Parete Sud)
The south face is a documented alpine route on Cima della Vezzana and is more committing than the normal ridge. It involves steeper mixed terrain and more sustained climbing than the standard ascent. The route is exposed to rockfall and can be affected by snow or ice in the upper sections. It requires solid route-finding and comfort on steep Dolomite rock. This is a mountaineering line, not a trekking route. The exact difficulty can vary with conditions.
