South-East Ridge

4B | D+ | IV/V Edit route
The South-East Ridge is the standard and best-documented climbing line on Pumori. It is a serious high-altitude alpine route with sustained snow, ice, and mixed climbing rather than a simple trekking ascent. The route is exposed to avalanche danger, serac fall, and objective hazards from the surrounding glacier terrain. Conditions on the ridge can vary widely with snow cover and weather, making route-finding important. It is typically climbed with one or more high camps above base camp. The upper mountain steepens into a demanding summit section with significant exposure.
