Rakhiot Face

The Kinshofer Route is the standard western route on Nanga Parbat and is the best-known line on the mountain. It is a serious high-altitude alpine climb with steep mixed terrain, exposed traverses, avalanche and rockfall hazard, and significant objective danger on the face.

The Rupal Face is one of the largest and most formidable mountain faces in the world and is a classic extreme alpine objective on Nanga Parbat. It is characterized by very steep mixed climbing, severe exposure, and major objective hazards from avalanches, seracs, and rockfall.

The Schell Route is a documented line on the west side of Nanga Parbat and is regarded as a very serious alpine route. It involves sustained steep climbing in a high-risk environment with complex route-finding and significant objective danger.

The Messner Route is the famous line associated with Reinhold Messner's 1978 ascent and is one of the classic routes on Nanga Parbat. It is a major high-altitude climb with steep, committing terrain and substantial objective hazards.

The Diamir Face is the broad western aspect of Nanga Parbat and has several established climbing lines, including the classic route used for the first ascent. It is a very serious alpine objective with long, exposed climbing and major avalanche and rockfall exposure.
