The north side of Manāslu is documented as a serious Himalayan alpine route with sustained snow and ice climbing at extreme altitude. Conditions are highly dependent on snow stability and weather, and the route is exposed to crevasses and avalanche danger.

Route Outline

Approach to the north side of Manāslu
Cross glacier terrain to establish camps on the face
Climb snow and ice slopes through the upper face
Gain the summit ridge and continue to the summit
Return by the ascent route

More routes on Manāslu

This is the standard and by far the most commonly climbed route on Manāslu. It is a high-altitude snow and ice route with objective hazards including crevasses, avalanche exposure, and sections that can become steep and icy above the higher camps.
