The East Face is another established alpine route on Aiguille d'Argentière. It is a steep and serious line that can involve snow, ice, and mixed climbing depending on conditions. The face is exposed and can present objective dangers from seracs, rockfall, and unstable snow. It is more demanding than the normal route and requires good mountain judgment. Because conditions vary widely, the exact character of the climb can change from one season to another. It is a recognized summit route in the Mont Blanc Massif climbing literature.
