Normal route from the Italian side via the Corno Gries area
This is the Italian-side approach to the same summit, using the upper glacier and snow slopes on the south side. It is a classic alpine route with modest technical difficulty, but it still requires glacier travel competence. Crevasse danger and snow stability are the main concerns. In good conditions the climbing is mostly on broad, moderate slopes. It is a documented mountaineering ascent rather than a hiking trail. The route is often described as a normal route from the Formazza/Corno Gries side.

Corno Gries / upper Val Formazza approach -> glacier approach
Cross the upper snow and glacier terrain toward the summit basin
Climb the broad snow slopes to the summit ridge
