Normal route from the Geltenhütte via the north-west side
This is another established alpine ascent of Wildhorn, commonly described from the Geltenhütte side. It is a glacier-and-snow route of moderate difficulty, typically in the same general grade as the standard ascent. The route is less about technical climbing than about safe travel on snow and glacier terrain. Conditions can vary significantly with season, especially on the upper slopes and glacier crossings. It is a genuine mountaineering route and not merely a hiking approach. In poor visibility the broad summit area can make orientation more difficult.
