This is the classic normal route on Mont Blanc and the most frequently climbed line. It is a high-altitude snow and mixed route with a long approach and a sustained summit day. The main objective hazard is the Grand Couloir below the Aiguille du Goûter, which is notorious for rockfall. Above the Goûter Hut the route follows snow slopes and the Bosses Ridge, where altitude, wind, and cold are the main difficulties. In stable conditions it is technically moderate, but it remains a serious alpine ascent because of exposure, weather, and objective hazards. It is commonly climbed with an overnight at Tête Rousse or Goûter Hut.
