Ascent

From the Erroymendi col or from the penultimate hairpin, traverse right while ascending slightly to reach the Alupigna basin at the foot of the north face. Gain the Alupigna ridge at the far right of the north face, then attack the barrier at its weak point and climb the north face by an ascending diagonal from right to left. The summit ridge is reached about a hundred metres west of the summit.

Descent

Descend directly from the summit by the NNE ridge called the Béhastoy ridge. The first 50 metres are a bit steep. The rest is easy on a shoulder dotted with numbered palombières. This brings you back to the Erroymendi col.

Gear

Crampons, ice axes, rope, pitons

Remarks

- Special alpine atmosphere in the middle of the Basque mountain pastures and with a view of the sea!!!

- Access: Pau - Oloron - Aramits - Tardets - Larrau, then head towards the Port de Larrau and park as best you can at the Erroymendi col (or before if the snow closes the road).
