This is the standard established route from the north side of the San Jacinto Mountains to San Jacinto Peak. It is a well-documented mountain route, but it is primarily a hiking trail rather than a technical alpine climb. The route is long and sustained, with significant elevation gain and exposure to weather, snow, and ice in winter. In alpine conditions it can require crampons and an ice axe, but the line itself follows a maintained trail. The main hazards are navigation in snow, cold, and steep icy sections near the summit. It is commonly used as an ascent and descent line for the peak.
