A fairly straightforward route with several options at the end of varying difficulty

Route

Start from the parking area at the hairpin bend just above Porté Puymorens (42.550033,1.842221)

Head towards Étang de Lanoux then leave it on your right and climb generally straight up towards Coume d'Or.

There, several couloirs are available to you of varying difficulty (we tested two that we would grade F+ and PD-.)

Descent

Return via the HRP then walk back along the tarmac road/hitchhike.

Gear

  • Diva kit
  • Crampons, 1 ice axe

Remarks

The track is incomplete: it shows the final PD- ascent heading west, and the beginning of the descent across open ground heading south to rejoin the HRP.

Watch out for potential cornices on arrival at the top, potentially avoidable by scree at the end.

We found no guidebook for this route.

We saw the lines while doing Carlit and wanted to go test this.

Route history

We found nothing concerning this route online, no doubt it has been climbed quite a bit given how obvious it is.
