This is the standard documented alpine route to Vrenelisg e4rtli and is usually climbed from the Fridolinsh fctte. The route crosses the Bifertenfirn glacier and then gains the summit by the south ridge. It is a classic glacier-and-ridge ascent with straightforward but serious alpine terrain. Typical difficulties are crevasse travel, snow conditions on the glacier, and route-finding on the upper ridge. The route is generally considered a moderate mountaineering objective rather than a technical rock climb. Conditions can vary significantly with season and glacier coverage, so rope, crampons, and glacier travel skills are required.
