This is the standard and best-documented route to Ulrichshorn. It is a classic alpine snow-and-ridge ascent from the Bordierhütte, usually undertaken as part of a traverse or as a standalone objective. The route is generally straightforward in good conditions but requires glacier travel skills and safe route-finding. The upper mountain is typically climbed on snow slopes and an exposed ridge, with objective hazards from crevasses and changing snow conditions. Difficulty is usually modest by alpine standards, but conditions can make the route significantly more serious. It is commonly graded around PD / UIAA I-II, depending on conditions and exact line taken.
