This is the standard documented ascent route to Pizzo Lucendro from the Gotthard area. It is an alpine mountain route rather than a hiking trail, with sustained steep scree and broken rock on the upper mountain. The route is generally considered straightforward in dry conditions but requires sure-footedness and basic route-finding. Snow patches can linger well into the season and may increase objective hazard. The final section to the summit is on exposed alpine terrain with loose rock in places. Descent is normally made by the ascent route.
