Normal Route

2A | PD | II
The Normal Route is the standard and best-known way to climb Pisco in the Cordillera Blanca. It is a glacier route that is generally considered non-technical by alpine standards, but it still requires proper glacier travel skills and acclimatization. The climb typically involves access from the Quebrada Llanganuco area to a high camp or hut, followed by a summit day on snow and glacier slopes. Objective hazards include crevasses, snow conditions, and altitude. In normal conditions it is often climbed as a two-day ascent with a high camp. Route conditions can vary significantly with season and recent snowfall.
