The route is exposed to changing snow conditions, especially on the ridge crest and upper slopes. It requires competent navigation in glaciated terrain and comfort with exposed alpine movement. As with many Bernese Alps routes, the objective danger can be higher than the technical grade suggests. Conditions determine whether the route feels straightforward or quite serious.
