The Via Italiana (CAI 517bF) climbs the north face of Mangart (2,679 m) on the Italy–Slovenia border, above the Fusine lakes near Tarvisio. The local CAI section built it in 1955–56 with climbers from Cave del Predil, so that Italians could reach the summit without crossing the post-war border. It…
