This is the standard documented mountaineering route to Krönten and is typically climbed from Kröntenhütte. The route follows alpine terrain with a mix of rock, scree, and possible snow or glacier sections depending on conditions. It is not a hiking trail and requires sure-footedness and basic alpine experience. The main difficulties are route-finding, exposed ridge sections, and condition-dependent snow/ice on the upper mountain. In stable summer conditions it is usually a moderate alpine climb rather than a technical rock route. The descent is normally made by the ascent line.
