Hyndman Peak (12,009 ft / 3,660 m) is one of Idaho's nine peaks over 12,000 ft, located in the Pioneer Mountains near Sun Valley. Its classic route from the Hyndman Creek trailhead is a scenic but strenuous 12–14 mile round-trip with over 4,500 ft gain through meadows, streams, and boulder fields to the sharp summit. The peak offers sweeping views of the Pioneers, Boulder Mountains, and distant Sawtooths. Popular among local climbers and backpackers for its relative accessibility compared to more remote 12ers, with wildflowers in summer and possible snow year-round. It's a rewarding high-altitude hike in one of Idaho's most beautiful ranges, often combined with nearby peaks for multi-day trips.
