The north ridge is a documented alpine route on Fletschhorn and is generally more serious than the southwest ridge. It combines snow, ice, and rock climbing in a high alpine setting. The route is exposed to objective hazards from glacier travel and changing snow conditions. Rock quality can be variable, so careful route-finding and secure movement are important. It is a mountaineering climb rather than a trekking objective. The route is best attempted in stable weather and with good mountain conditions.
