The North Ridge is the classic mountaineering line on Dôme de Miage and is widely documented in guidebooks for the Mont Blanc massif. It is a long alpine ridge route with sustained snow and mixed terrain rather than a pure rock climb. Conditions can vary greatly, with exposed sections and objective hazards from snow, ice, and crevasses on the approach. The route is generally climbed from the Refuge des Conscrits, often as a one- or two-day outing depending on conditions and acclimatization. It is considered a serious alpine climb requiring glacier travel skills and comfort on exposed ridge terrain. The descent is commonly made by reversing the route.

The South Ridge is another established route on Dôme de Miage and is described in standard alpine references for the massif. It is a long, committing ridge climb with mixed ground and significant exposure. The route typically involves glacier or snowfield access from the Miage side before gaining the ridge proper. Depending on conditions, the ridge can include corniced sections, loose rock, and short technical passages. It is less straightforward than a normal glacier ascent and demands solid route-finding and alpine experience. Descent is usually by the ascent line unless a traverse or alternative descent is specifically planned.
