Via Normale (Normal Route) from Campo Imperatore via the southern side
This is the standard and most frequently documented mountaineering route on Corno Grande. It follows the southern side of the massif and is generally considered the easiest way to the summit, but it is still an alpine ascent rather than a simple hike. The route involves steep scree, loose rock, and exposed sections near the upper mountain. In early season or after snow, it can require crampons and an ice axe. Route-finding is usually straightforward in good visibility, but the terrain can be unpleasant and unstable. It is commonly used as the descent line as well.
