This is the standard documented mountaineering route on Heiligkreuzkofel and is generally climbed from the south side. It follows a combination of ledges, gullies, and ridge terrain to reach the summit area. The route is alpine in character, with exposed passages and route-finding that can be complex in poor visibility. Rock quality is variable, so care is needed, especially on loose or polished sections. It is not a hiking route and requires proper climbing equipment and experience on steep Dolomite terrain. Conditions can change quickly with weather, and retreat may be difficult once committed.
