Via Normal per la Canal del Verdet

2A | PD | II Edit route
This is the classic normal mountaineering route associated with the north side of Pedraforca and the summit of El Calderer. It is a steep alpine gully-and-ridge ascent rather than a trekking path. The route involves scrambling on rock and can include exposed passages. Loose stone is a notable hazard, especially when other parties are above. In winter or early season it may require snow and ice skills. It is widely documented in Catalan mountain literature and guide sources for Pedraforca.

This is the best-known documented mountaineering line on Pedraforca-El Calderer. It follows the Canal del Verdet on the north side and uses fixed equipment in places, so it is more of an alpine via ferrata / easy climbing route than a pure hike. The route is exposed in sections and can be serious if wet, icy, or crowded. It is commonly used as an ascent line to the summit area of El Calderer. Route-finding is straightforward in good conditions, but loose rock and exposure require care. It is one of the classic ways to climb the mountain from the north side.
