Via Ferrata Route (Walk the Torq / Low's Peak Circuit)

2A | PD | II Edit route
This is the best-known documented alpine-style route on Mount Kinabalu, combining the normal summit approach with the mountain's famous via ferrata. It is not a technical rock climb in the classic sense, but it is the established roped route system on the peak. The route involves exposed traverses, ladders, and fixed cables on steep granite terrain. Conditions can be wet and slippery, and weather changes quickly at altitude. The route is normally done with a guide and safety equipment provided by the operator. It is one of the few genuinely mountaineering-oriented routes on the mountain that is widely documented in official and guidebook sources.
