Strunga Dracului (Dragon's Gully)
Strunga Dracului is the classic mountaineering line on Vf. Negoiu and is widely cited in Romanian alpine literature. It is a steep, narrow gully on the north side of the peak, involving exposed scrambling and short climbing sections rather than a simple hiking path. The route is significantly more serious than the normal tourist approaches to Negoiu. Conditions can vary greatly with wet rock, lingering snow, or ice, which increase the objective danger. It is best treated as an alpine route requiring sure-footedness and comfort on exposed terrain. The exact difficulty can change with season and conditions, but it is generally regarded as the peak's signature climbing route.
