Northwest Chute

The Northwest Chute is one of the classic alpine routes on North Palisade and is widely documented in Sierra Nevada climbing references. It is a steep snow and ice couloir that provides direct access to the summit ridge. The route is generally considered a serious mountaineering objective rather than a simple snow climb. Parties often combine it with a glacier approach from the North Fork Big Pine Creek side.

The North Face of North Palisade is a documented alpine route on the peak and is among the more serious lines on the mountain.
