North Ridge

3A | AD | III Edit route
The North Ridge is the classic alpine route on Mount Conness and is widely documented in Sierra climbing references. It is a mixed rock-and-snow ridge climb with sustained scrambling and short steep sections. Conditions can vary significantly with snow coverage, making route-finding and protection choices important. The route is exposed in places and is more serious than a simple hike. Loose rock and lingering snow are common hazards, especially early in the season. It is generally considered the main mountaineering line on the peak.

South Face

3A | AD | III
The South Face is a documented alpine route on Mount Conness and is climbed as a direct line on the mountain's south side. It is a mixed route that can involve snow, loose rock, and route-finding on steep terrain. The character of the climb depends strongly on seasonal conditions. It is more serious than the standard hiking approach and requires alpine judgment. Exposure and rock quality are the main objective concerns. This route is less commonly described than the North Ridge but is established in climbing sources.
