North face

The north face of Galenstock is a serious alpine route and is considerably harder than the normal ridge routes. It is a steep face climb with snow, ice, and mixed sections depending on conditions. Objective danger from avalanches, icefall, and changing conditions can be significant. The route demands strong alpine judgment and efficient movement on technical terrain. It is not a beginner objective and is only appropriate for experienced climbers. I am not confident enough to provide documented route metrics beyond the route name and general character.

South ridge

4A | D | IV
The south ridge is a documented alpine route on Galenstock and is more demanding than the normal route. It involves sustained mixed climbing on a ridge line with exposed sections. The route is typically done in firm conditions and requires solid route-finding. Loose rock and exposure are the main difficulties. It is suitable for experienced alpinists comfortable on steep alpine terrain. Exact timings and metrics are not consistently documented in the sources I can verify.
