Normal route via the West Ridge from the Siegerlandhütte

3A | AD | III Edit route
This is the established normal alpine route on Wilde Leck and is the best-known documented ascent line for the peak. It follows the west ridge from the Siegerlandhütte and involves sustained alpine scrambling and easy climbing on rock. The route is not a hiking trail; it requires sure-footedness and basic mountaineering experience. Conditions can vary significantly with snow or ice on the upper ridge, increasing the seriousness of the climb. Route-finding is important in the rocky terrain near the ridge crest. The descent is typically made by the ascent route.
