Normal route via the south face and south-west ridge

This is the standard and best-documented mountaineering line on Les Rouies. It is generally climbed as a snow-and-rock alpine route rather than a pure hiking path. The difficulties are usually modest in good conditions, but the route can become more serious with hard snow, poor visibility, or unstable rock. The south-facing terrain is exposed to rockfall and rapid condition changes later in the season. The route is typically done as a long alpine day or with a high bivouac depending on conditions.
