Normal route via the Mannlsteig and the Hoher Göll East Ridge

2A | PD | II Edit route
This is the standard documented alpine route to the summit of Hoher Göll. It follows the Mannlsteig to the Göllscharte area and then continues on the east ridge to the summit. The route is a mountain climb rather than a simple hike, with exposed sections and some scrambling. In dry conditions it is generally considered the easiest way to the top, but it still requires sure-footedness and a head for exposure. Snow, ice, or wet rock can significantly increase the difficulty and objective hazard. It is commonly described in Berchtesgaden Alps guidebooks as the normal ascent route.
