Normal route via the Mädelegabel ridge from the Kemptner Hut
This is the standard documented mountaineering route to Mädelegabel and is usually climbed from the Kemptner Hut. The route follows the mountain’s ridge and upper rock sections to the summit. It is an alpine route rather than a simple hiking trail, and sure-footedness and a head for exposure are required. The difficulties are generally in the easy climbing range, but the terrain can be loose and exposed in places. Route-finding may be important in poor visibility. Conditions on the ridge can make the route significantly more serious than the nominal grade suggests.
