Normal route via Gollinghütte and the south ridge
This is the standard and best-known mountaineering route on Hochgolling. It is a non-technical alpine ascent on marked or well-trodden mountain paths and ridge terrain, but it still requires sure-footedness and good mountain conditions. The route is typically approached from the Gollinghütte area and then continues over the south ridge to the summit. Exposed or steep sections can be affected by snow, ice, or wet rock early in the season. The climb is generally considered a classic easy alpine route rather than a pure hiking trail. It is the established normal ascent described in alpine guide literature for the peak.
