Normal Route (South-East Ridge)
This is the standard and best-documented route on Mera Peak, and it is the line used by most guided ascents. It is generally a snow-and-glacier climb rather than a technical rock route, but it is still a high-altitude mountaineering objective. The main difficulties are altitude, cold, and the need to travel safely on glacier terrain. Conditions can vary significantly with snow cover, and crevasses may be present on the approach and upper glacier. The final ridge to the summit is usually straightforward in good conditions, but exposure and wind can make it feel serious. It is commonly climbed with crampons, ice axe, and rope travel depending on conditions and team experience.
