Normal route from Vernagthütte via the Fluchtkogel glacier
This is the standard and best-documented mountaineering route to Fluchtkogel. It is a glacier and snow climb rather than a technical rock route, and is commonly graded in the easy alpine range. The main objective hazards are crevasses, snow conditions, and route-finding on the glacier. Depending on conditions, crampons and rope are normally required. The route is typically done from Vernagthütte, which serves as the usual base for the ascent. In late season, glacier retreat can make the route more broken and more complex.
