Normal route from the Wiesbadener Hütte via the Ochsentaler Glacier and Buinlücke

2A | PD | II Edit route
This is the standard and best-documented ascent route to Piz Buin. It is a classic glacier-and-ridge climb in the Silvretta Alps, usually undertaken from the Wiesbadener Hütte. The route crosses the Ochsentaler Glacier and reaches the Buinlücke, the key col on the mountain. From there the ascent continues over mixed snow, ice, and rock terrain to the summit. The route is generally considered a moderate alpine climb, but glacier travel and crevasse hazards require proper equipment and conditions assessment. In late season, snow and ice conditions can make the upper section more serious than the nominal grade suggests.
