Normal route from the San Bernardino Pass / Alp de la Bolla side
This is the standard documented ascent to Pizzo Tambo and is generally treated as a mountaineering route rather than a hiking trail. It follows the mountain’s south to southeast side from the San Bernardino Pass area toward the summit ridge. The route is typically on steep alpine terrain with scree, grass, and broken rock, depending on conditions. In early season or after fresh snow, it can require crampons and an ice axe. The upper part is exposed and demands sure-footedness, but it is not a technical rock climb in normal conditions. Route-finding can be important in poor visibility, especially near the summit slopes and ridge.
